The spec-sheet read

Our analysis of the sourced spec sheet — positioning and trade-offs, not a hands-on review. We don't score mowers we haven't tested.

The previous Mammotion flagship: all-wheel drive, RTK-plus-vision navigation and an 80% slope rating for lawns up to 5,000 m² — superseded by the LUBA 3 but still the reference it is measured against.

The LUBA 2 AWD 5000 is the 2024 generation of Mammotion's all-wheel-drive robot and the machine the LUBA 3 AWD 5000 we also list replaces. The capacities the two share are the reason the line exists: 5,000 m² coverage, a 40 cm twin-disc cut, a 25–70 mm height range and an 80% (38°) slope rating from four driven wheels. Navigation is RTK positioning fused with camera vision — wire-free, but without the LiDAR layer the LUBA 3 adds. The 15 Ah battery is rated for up to 260 minutes of mowing per charge, the longest quoted runtime of any robot in our catalogue.

The choice between the two generations is mostly about availability and price: Mammotion's EU store lists the LUBA 2 AWD 5000X at a €2,999 regular price against €3,199 for the LUBA 3, but showed it as sold out at capture as the newer model takes over. On paper the LUBA 2 gives up LiDAR-assisted obstacle handling and positioning under tree cover; it does not give up slope, area or cut. For a large, steep, open lawn the older machine is not a compromise on the numbers that matter — the caveat is finding one new.

Verification note: Specs are quoted from Mammotion's official LUBA 2 AWD page and its support-site specification table; the €2,999 is the EU store's stated regular price for the 5000X variant, with its lower sale price excluded. Weight, noise, recharge time and IP rating are not stated in these sources and are left unspecified. This is a reading of the published specification, not a hands-on test.
